ISIM Review

The Autumn 2008 issue of ISIM Review is themed: 'Arts, Culture, Place'. The magazine contains articles by researchers all over the world. Readers are kept informed about research trends and background information concerning developments and events in Islam and the Islamic world.


In 2005 the title ISIM Newsletter was changed in ISIM Review in order to reflect the editor's aim for an accessible survey of debate and research for a wider audience. The ISIM Review is a publication of the International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern world (ISIM) in Leiden. ISIM's task is the development en supervision of innovative, high quality research on social, political, cultural and intellectual trends and movements in contemporary Muslim communities and societies. Various disciplines are represented: anthropology, sociology, religion studies, political science and cultural studies.
