The Alumni Bureau forms the communication hub between the artists/former
participants, present participants and contacts of the Rijksakademie.
The bureau organises presentations by former participants such as readings,
discussions, seminars and meetings in London, Berlin, Paris etc.
Documentation on approximately 450 artists is recorded in the documentation
centre of the Rijksakademie. Files with slides, CD ROMS, videos, articles,
CVs and more are open to visiting curators, critics, art contacts and
other interested parties.
Via the alumni bureau, artists/former participants can have their web
site linked to the Rijksakademie web site and their exhibitions and
other activities announced.
The Rijksakademie initiated the RAIN Artists’ Initiative Network
that was launched in 2000.
It connects artists’ initiatives set up by alumni of the Rijksakademie;
Claudia Fontes in Argentina, Marco Paulo Rolla in Brazil, Goddy Leye
in Cameroon, Tushar Joag and Sharmila Samant in India, Ade Darmawan
in Indonesia, Hama Goro in Mali, Diego Gutièrrez in Mexico and
Greg Streak in South Africa. Via RAIN, there is a constant exchange
of ideas, art and context between these initiatives and the Rijksakademie.
