In 1999 the artist Michael Blum bought a pair of Nike “sneakers” in
Paris.
Two years later he was invited by Ade Darmawan from ruangrupa to participate
in a project and he travelled back to where his sneakers were manufactured:
Indonesia.
Blum decided to have his sneakers travel back to their origin and went
in search of their makers, the factory, etc. The film that records
his trip and experiences is not a journalistic document, but a diary-like,
philosophical image story.
