The Mon Culture and Literature
Survival Project
The people of the Mon live in Burma and Thailand. A people with
their own language and way of writing, their own music and legends
and their own form of Buddhism. You can learn about the Mon via
The Mon Culture and Literature Survival Project (MCL) site. This
is an organization whose objective is to preserve the culture of
the Mon. On the site you will find texts and photos about the history,
traditions and the daily lives of the Mon. Listen to the music of
the crocodile harp! You can even try to learn their language –
though you may need more than Flash 5 to hear the difference between
the consonants tha?, tha?, ta? and ta?.
